    Bible Study: John 6:51-58
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever." (John 6:51)

In this passage, Jesus gives one of His most profound teachings: He is the Bread of Life, and His flesh and blood are true food and true drink. These words challenge both His listeners and us today because they invite us into a relationship that is intimate, life-giving, and transformative.

    · Jesus Gives Himself Completely

Jesus does not merely offer guidance, wisdom, or inspiration. He offers Himself. In the Eucharist, Christ gives His very Body and Blood for our spiritual nourishment. Just as physical food sustains our bodies, the Eucharist sustains our souls and strengthens us to live as His disciples.

    · The Gift of Eternal Life

Jesus repeatedly promises eternal life to those who receive Him. The Eucharist is not simply a reminder of Jesus; it is a participation in His life. Each time we receive Holy Communion, we are united more deeply with Christ and given a foretaste of the heavenly banquet.

    · Remaining in Christ

Jesus says, "Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him" (v. 56). God desires not a distant relationship but a close communion with us. Through prayer, Scripture, and the Eucharist, we are invited to abide in His love and allow His presence to transform our hearts.

    Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the Living Bread come down from heaven. Thank You for giving Yourself completely for our salvation. Help me to hunger for You above all things and to receive You with faith, love, and gratitude. May Your presence in the Eucharist strengthen me to live as Your disciple and draw me closer to You each day. Amen.

    Fr. Ben
