    Stations of the Cross

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

A Short Study: The Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross invite us to walk spiritually with Jesus on His journey to Calvary. This devotion is not only a remembrance of His suffering but a prayerful reflection on His deep love for us. At each station, we pause to consider Christ’s humility, obedience, and mercy as He carries the weight of the cross for the salvation of the world.
As we move from station to station, we see moments of pain, compassion, weakness, and faithfulness. Jesus falls, yet rises. He is helped by Simon, comforted by Veronica, and consoled by the women of Jerusalem. These encounters remind us that even in suffering, God’s grace is present through others and that our own crosses can be carried with hope when united to Christ. The Stations also encourage us to examine our lives. Where do we fall? When do we help others carry their burdens? How do we respond to suffering—our own and that of others? In following Jesus to the cross, we learn how to follow Him in daily life.
This sacred journey ends not in despair but in quiet hope. Though the stations conclude at the tomb, we know the story does not end there. The Resurrection awaits, reminding us that suffering, when joined to Christ, leads to new life.

    Short Bible Study: Matthew 4:1–11

    (The Temptation of Jesus)

In Gospel of Matthew 4:1–11, Jesus is led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil after fasting forty days. Each temptation challenges Jesus’ identity and mission: to turn stones into bread, to test God’s protection, and to gain worldly power. Jesus resists every temptation by relying on Scripture, showing complete trust in the Father rather than self-gratification, spectacle, or control.

This passage teaches us that temptation often strikes in moments of weakness, but victory comes through prayer, fasting, and God’s Word. Jesus shows us that faithfulness means choosing obedience over comfort and God’s will over worldly gain. Lent especially invites us to follow Christ’s example—facing our own temptations with humility, trust, and reliance on God.

    Reflection Questions
What temptations challenge me most in times of weakness?

How can Scripture and prayer help me respond as Jesus did?

Where is God inviting me to trust Him more fully this season?
