    Stations of the Cross

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

A Short Study: The Stations of the Cross

The Stations of the Cross invite us to walk spiritually with Jesus on His journey to Calvary. This devotion is not only a remembrance of His suffering but a prayerful reflection on His deep love for us. At each station, we pause to consider Christ’s humility, obedience, and mercy as He carries the weight of the cross for the salvation of the world.
As we move from station to station, we see moments of pain, compassion, weakness, and faithfulness. Jesus falls, yet rises. He is helped by Simon, comforted by Veronica, and consoled by the women of Jerusalem. These encounters remind us that even in suffering, God’s grace is present through others and that our own crosses can be carried with hope when united to Christ. The Stations also encourage us to examine our lives. Where do we fall? When do we help others carry their burdens? How do we respond to suffering—our own and that of others? In following Jesus to the cross, we learn how to follow Him in daily life.
This sacred journey ends not in despair but in quiet hope. Though the stations conclude at the tomb, we know the story does not end there. The Resurrection awaits, reminding us that suffering, when joined to Christ, leads to new life.

    St. Patrick’s Day– March 17

Saint Patrick is remembered as the patron saint of Ireland and a great missionary of the Church. As a young man he was kidnapped and taken to Ireland as a slave. During those difficult years he grew deeply in prayer and trust in God. After escaping and returning home, Patrick later felt called by God to return to Ireland as a missionary. Through his preaching and example, many came to know Christ. Tradition says he used the shamrock to explain the mystery of the Holy Trinity.

May St. Patrick inspire us to trust God
and share our faith with courage.

What Is a St. Joseph’s Table?
      St. Joseph’s Table
A Tradition of Faith, Gratitude, and Charity

The tradition of St. Joseph’s Table began in Sicily during the Middle Ages. A severe drought brought famine and suffering to the people. In their need, they prayed to St. Joseph, asking his intercession before God for rain and relief. When the rains finally came and the harvest was saved, the people prepared a table of food in thanksgiving to God and in honor of St. Joseph.

Each year around March 19, the Feast of St. Joseph, families and parishes continue this beautiful tradition. A table is prepared with breads, pastries, fruits, and other foods—many of them shaped into religious symbols such as crosses, staffs, and hearts. At the center is often a statue or image of St. Joseph.

More than a display of food, St. Joseph’s Table is a reminder of three important spiritual values:

    • Gratitude – Giving thanks to God for His blessings
    • Faith – Honoring St. Joseph, protector of the Holy Family
    • Charity – Sharing food and donations with those in need

Traditionally, the food from the table is distributed to the poor, reminding us that devotion to God is always expressed through generosity and care for others.

May the example of St. Joseph inspire us to live with humble faith, quiet service, and loving hearts.

    Fr. Ben
