ST. ANN PARISH COUNCIL MEETING - April 16, 2024
Highlights for Bulletin
Upcoming Events. Watch for Announcements in the bulletin:
• Brenda Porter is working on getting a summer adult book study.
• The education committee is looking for ways to reach out to the influx of kids we will have coming over the summer months. The first step of that effort was getting "Kid's Bulletins."
• The Stewardship Committee will be meeting this summer to plan events for the Diocese Stewardship Renewal this October. This year's theme is "Without Cost You Have Received."
• Rummage Sale May 3rd and 4th. The sale will go to 2pm on Saturday. Currently collecting gently used items. Watch for volunteer opportunities the week prior.
• The Ladies Auxiliary is getting ready to vote for new officers
• Knights of Columbus Fish Fry is once a month.
• Knights of Columbus has been having fun with cornhole tournaments on Wednesday evenings. $10 Entry fee.
• The new Pictorial Directories are here! Those who sat for portrait or sent in pictures will be given a directory. Remaining directories in original order will be set aside for new members. We are currently looking for ways to make additional directories available at minimal cost to our members.
• Planning is underway for CPR Training/AED Training.
• Decline to Sign - Petitioners are making the rounds asking for signatures for "women's health" initiative to amend the Missouri Constitution. This is a pro-abortion amendment. See the display in the entryway.
• The council is planning to invite computer specialist, Robin White, to speak on internet safety and how to protect ourselves from scams. More information to come.
Opportunities
• If you know of something that needs to be in the bulletin, please contact Diane Downing, Church Secretary by Wednesday each week.
• Volunteers are needed to help reach out to the sick and homebound. Currently there are only 6 or 7 volunteers providing this important service.
• Don't forget the weekly signup to help serve Coffee and Donuts.
• We are looking for volunteers to help with the Church History Project - Do you like to scrapbook? Do you have a love of organizing and categorizing? Have you been here since the dawn of time and might be able to help identify faces and events? Then this project is for YOU! We need help identifying, categorizing, organizing and displaying historical pictures.
Action Items
• Diane will be running more bulletins each week during the summer to accommodate higher attendance.
• The council voted to act on arborist's recommendations to help preserve the Prayer Garden tree. Plans are being made to remove the dead tree.
• A new kitchen faucet has been installed, kitchen door lock has been repaired, new batteries have been installed in all external door locks. The light fixture in foyer was repaired. There is 1 light in the church that will need to be addressed at some point in the future. All furnace filters were replaced, and thermostats set for summer operations.
